2011-03-04 Calgary Robot Roomba Gets Ez-b
It was a busy day with work on the EZ-Robot project tonight. I managed to write a iRobot Roomba SCI protocol into the EZ-Builder and EZ-SDK. I also released a new firmware V10 with the update.
The iRobot Roomba Robot can now be remote controlled by the EZ-Builder or EZ-SDK using the EZ-B Robot Controller. And because I wrote a Movement Control in EZ-Builder, there is no need to write any code! Anyone can remote control their roomba now 
The cable was easy to make. I used a PS/2 Mouse cable connector, and attached the 3 wire servo connector to it. The little square tab on the inside of the PS/2 plug needed to be snapped off in order to fit in the roomba's female port.
Connect the 3 wire servo cable to any of the Digital I/O ports on the EZ-B and away you go!
I even mounted a camera on mine, with a servo. So my roomba can now follow color and motion.
