I started working on a new project today for my www.ez-robot.com project. I designed an application for non-programmers to build and control their DIY robot projects. The application is called EZ-Builder.
The usability design concept is to simplify basic EZ-B usage without needing to write any code. The application allows the user to add custom controls to visually detail their project. Servo controls for arms and neck. Mobility controls for modified servos used as wheels.
There are also polling controls for Digital and Analog (ADC) status. Additionally there is an Auto Collision feature embedded in the mobility control.
Each control has a config menu which allows the user to select the hardware ports and various options specific to the control.
The Radar Scan Control is pretty fun. It lets you attach a Sharp IR Distance Sensor to a servo while it scans and displays object distances.
The Scripting feature is a little pre-processing script engine that I created. It allows the user to write initialization and animation scripts. They can be executed at the push of a button.
