2010-10-17 Calgary Sony Laptop Power Supply
I have been having a lot of problems with my Sony VGN-FW235D lately. The mouse button stopped working. The paint is pealing off. The power connector is loose.
So today, I went to get some information off of it onto my other laptop and no power. The power supply light flashed once and that was it.
I phoned Sony Store, they want $150 for a new power supply and it has to be ordered in. Grrrrrr, I need it now. I fought with taking the case apart, it was difficult 
First step of diagnosing electronics is to probe around for a broken solder joint. Sure enough, one of the coils was loose. Soldered... Fixed
Now I have an ugly taped up power supply, but at least it works and I didn't have to spend $150.
