Yes, I know you can buy a remote WII sensor bar for $14 at Walmart. 
I had moved my WII into my bedroom on the projector and needed a remote sensor bar late at night. So I converted the standard one. The voltage out of the WII was 12 volts. So that's perfect for a 9 volt batter. I also took it apart to see what was going on inside.
