An oil catch can hooks up to the PCV lines between the crank case and throttle body. When you modify an engine and increase it's boost, some of it will pressurize the crank case. Sometimes oil will splash and get pushed out of the PCV into the intake. Oil doesn't burn like gasoline and decreases the anti-knock (octane) rating of the fuel. This causes detonation. It also messes up your intercooler(s) and piping.
I purchased this Carbon Fiber catch can. It arrived in the mail today, so I snapped some photos.
Good-bye emissions control! Venting crankcase/valve covers to atmosphere may not be best for the environment, but it's good for performance and reliability
