YAY It's summer!
Usually I clean out and assemble my pond in May, but April 19th will do just fine.
This year I got a new PVC Black liner from canadian tire ($59.99). I re-used the same metal trim that I assembled last year, but used new nails. I dug out the ground another few inches and levelled some places. The one thing I wonder is if the plants from last year will re-grow. I usually get new ones, but this year I threw the old soil/roots in there. They are in a plastic underwear plant container, so if they don't start growing then I will throw them out.
I won't put the fish in there until May, because it still gets pretty cold. I cleaned the amythest up with a good cleaner and high pressure spray. They collect lots of algea in the summer, which i don't mind. But they are pretty when they are clean.
My favourite part of the day was when the birds came swarming in. They saw the pond and were all lining up around my yard waiting for me to leave. A few would come pretty close, within a few feet. Then back off when I went to grab the camera. I did snap a picture of a Robin who came really close.
