2006-11-18 Calgary Moose Packers In November
What seemed like a good idea at the time, turned out to be an awesome idea!
Cade and I set out to moose packers on moose mountain today. It was a beautiful day of about 10-15 degrees celcuis in the sun.
The mountain was a bit chilly and had lots of ice on the path. But the most fun and challenge were all the trees across the path.
These trees weren't tiny as you can see. I only took a picture of a few with my phone. But man we had to climb over them and cut up our legs. Plus i decided to bring the BIG bike so i had my Kona Stinky, and throwing that over the debri was a workout.
The trail usually takes a little over an hour when you take your time. For us it took many hours. We tried many other branches of the trail to see if we could avoid trees. And eventually lost sunlight. For the last 30-50 minutes of the ride, we were in complete blackness.
Not being able to see the ground or each other, it was a challenge. Plus some of the switch backs are on steep dropoffs and cliffs.
I have to say it was one of the funnest expierences I've had lately. My legs are pretty cut up and it was cold. But it was a great time!
