2006-07-22 Calgary Rothney Observatory
Every year I attend a few of the open houses of the Rothney Observatory which is owned by the U of C. They have a bunch of telescopes and most of their hardware is used for research. I always end up engaged in a good conversation with the professors and volunteers about the equipment and their research.
The rock in the last photo is actually from an asteroid. It's almost entirely Nickle and Iron making it a natural stainless steal. It's incredibly heavy having a density value of 8.
